Why integrate BIM and FM Software?
Download our white paper
From April 2016, it will be mandatory for all public sector projects in the UK to use fully-collaborative 3D building information modelling (BIM). Which means that both public sector FMs, and their private sector partners, should already be embracing the technology. While the design, construction and engineering sectors have welcomed BIM, the FM sector has, in many instances, been guilty of burying its head in the sand.
This white paper provides an overview of BIM in relation to FM, and discusses how integrating BIM with existing computer aided facilities management systems (CAFM), can provide real, meaningful data which supports the FM function and wider organisation. It is targeted at the practising facilities professional with some knowledge of FM software and BIM who is interested in improving their knowledge of this important topic.
This white paper covers areas such as:
- What is building information modelling (BIM) and how did it come about?
- Why integrate BIM with FM software?
- How to integrate BIM with FM software
- The future of BIM and FM software
- A glossary of useful terms
